Sep 08, 2024The Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics (IOQM) 2024 was held on September 8, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Organized by the Mathematics Teachers' Association, India (MTA), it served as the preliminary stage for the 2024–2025 International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) selection cycle.
Key Highlights of IOQM 2024
- Participation: Over 1.07 lakh students from classes 8 to 12 participated nationwide.
- Exam Format: The 3-hour offline paper consisted of 30 questions totaling 100 marks.
- 10 questions of 2 marks each.
- 10 questions of 3 marks each.
- 10 questions of 5 marks each.
- Results & Cut-offs: Revised results and region-wise cut-offs were released on October 21, 2024, following investigations into alleged malpractices at certain "probationary" centers.
- Highest Score: A top score of 94 marks was reported among participants.
- Next Stages: Roughly 6,700 students qualified for the Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO), the second stage held in late 2024.

If you appeared for the exam, you can still manage your credentials through the following official platforms:
- Score & Qualification Status: Available on the MTA official portal using your roll number and date of birth.
- Certificates: National and Regional certificates became available for download on December 16, 2024, at the MTA download site. The download window was scheduled to remain open until January 31, 2025.
